Health and Safety Policy
Iron Ore Holdings Ltd (IOH) places the health and safety of its employees and contractors above all other business considerations. Superior health and safety performance is integral to an efficient and successful company. We strive to create a culture where safety is a core value and where every individual takes responsibility for their own actions and will act to stop the unsafe actions of others.
In support of this policy, management accepts the responsibility for the creation of a safe workplace, through the implementation of a high standard Health and Safety management system and the promotion of safety awareness among their employees and contractors.
IOH will abide by all statutory Acts and Regulations as a minimum standard and will strive to maintain a level of safety that extends well beyond the legal requirements.
To carry out this policy we;
- Establish health and safety policies, procedures and management systems and commit adequate resources for their effective implementation.
- Assign responsibility and accountability to managers and supervisors for safety and health performance leading to an safe workplace,
- Establish responsibility and accountability for each employee to apply safe work methods and practices and require all employees to exert positive proactive safety awareness and commitment to safety.
- Require high safety standards and compliance from all contractors and service providers.
IOH encourages employee participation in all matters affecting the health and safety of our people and invite suggestions from our work force of ways in which safety can be improved.
